This intensive course is suitable for beginners and experienced students of the Alexander Technique and includes:

  • daily group classes with David Moore

  • optional two voice classes

The end‑of‑year course offers participants a week‑long immersion in the Alexander Technique, providing the opportunity to deepen both understanding and practical application of the fundamental principles of the work. Throughout the week you will explore how to release unnecessary tension, improve coordination and postural organisation, and apply the work directly to your personal interests and daily activities.

The yoga sessions are an essential part of the course, offering a direct focus on applying the Alexander Technique during movement and exercise. These classes emphasise the development of balance, strength, coordination, and mobility, helping participants integrate the principles of the work into dynamic activity. All limitations related to injury, flexibility, or physical capacity will be fully accommodated, ensuring that each person can participate safely and constructively.

This immersion is suitable for people from a wide range of backgrounds:

  • Individuals with musculoskeletal or other health concerns Many such issues are caused or exacerbated by habitual patterns of posture and movement. This course offers a constructive way to begin changing those habits.

  • Musicians and sportspeople Refine skills, address specific coordination challenges, and improve overall ease and efficiency in performance.

  • Teachers of yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, and other movement disciplines Strengthen your own practice while refining observational and teaching skills through Alexander Technique principles.

  • Music, singing, and performing arts teachers Enhance ease, coordination, and embodied awareness in both performance and instruction.

  • Medical and allied health professionals Engage in meaningful self‑work while meeting Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements.

  • Individuals considering formal Alexander Technique teacher training Gain first‑hand experience of what intensive study at the School for F. M. Alexander involves.

The program is primarily practical, with theoretical aspects woven naturally into the hands‑on and experiential work. Participants spend most of their time engaged in guided activities, partner work, and individual exploration, allowing the principles of the technique to be understood through direct experience rather than abstract instruction.

A private lesson is scheduled daily for each participant.
